Description
Tudor Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with modifications made in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is built from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings. The cottage features a thatched roof with a stepped coped gable on the west side and a plain gable on the east side, along with brick chimney stacks at each end. The building is single-storey with an attic and consists of two bays.
The outer bays have three-light hollow chamfered mullioned windows with rectangular leaded panes, topped by square labels. Above these windows are two-light small-pane casements set in swept thatched dormers. In the second bay, there is a 20th-century boarded door in a plain opening. At the rear, there is an 18th-century wing that has been modified in the 20th century. Although the interior has not been seen, it is reported to contain two fireplaces, one featuring a wave-moulded surround, and cruck trusses, one of which is jointed.
