Description
The Manor House is a 17th-century farmhouse located in Lower Muchelney. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with some lias stone and Ham stone dressings. The roof is plain clay tiled, hipped at the north end, and features a coped gable on the west side, along with brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and consists of five bays, with the first bay being a wide one-bay projection.
The windows are hollow chamfered mullioned types set in chamfered recesses, each with separate square labels. The windows have rectangular leaded panes with iron opening casements and stays, and some feature internal vertical iron bars. All windows are four-light, except for the returns to bay one and the upper bay three, which are three-light. There is a modern copy window in the lower bay one of the north wall. In the lower bay three, there is an old boarded door with toplights cut in, set within a moulded cambered arched surround that lacks a label. The interior has not been seen.
