Description

The Symons chest tomb, located 5 metres north of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, is a Grade II listed structure. This chest tomb is made of freestone and features the earliest legible date of Rev. Thomas Symons M.A. from 1738. It has large volute scrolls at each end, plain recessed tablets with inscriptions, and is supported by a moulded plinth. The tomb is topped with a moulded slab that is surmounted by an urn.
