5/3 Symes chest tomb, 7 metres West South West of West door, Church of Saint Mary Magelene -

GV II

Chest tomb. Early C19. Ham stone. Raised base, moulded plinth, one fielded panel each face with coffered pilasters to flanks, fairly thin moulded hipped top. Commemorates David Symes; died 1821; his widow, died 1839 and also Julietter Highmor Symes, died 1817. Seems to be a conscious copy of the early Highmor chest tomb nearby (qv).
