Description
Barwick Farm House, dating from the 17th century, features a remodelled facade from the early 19th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble with Ham stone dressings, and the facade is made of mottled buff brick in Flemish bond, accented with red brick and Ham stone. The building has a plain clay tiled roof with coped gables and brick chimney stacks. It is two stories tall, set on a basement plinth, and has three wide bays, with the center bay projecting slightly.
The central entrance consists of a six-panel door, with the middle two panels glazed, framed by stone architraves. Above the door are timber casements in architraves, with two in the center bay. The building features red brick quoins, a band course, and a dentilled eaves course, along with a central pediment that includes a semi-circular arched niche. There is a door to the basement located low on the right side.
At the rear, there are hollow-chamfered mullioned windows and a staircase lean-to with an arched sash window. Attached to the farmhouse by a single-storey link is a two-storey granary or barn, likely from the late 18th century. This structure is made of stone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof with coped gables and a brick stack at one end. It has three bays, timber casements, and a plain doorway on the first floor with stone steps leading up to it.
