Description
The Malet monument, located about 2 meters south-east of the former Church of St John the Baptist, is a chest tomb dating from the mid-17th century. It is made of Doulting stone, with its base buried. The monument features plain flanks and ends, and a heavy cyma-recta coving on the flat top, which has bullnosed edges. It commemorates William Malet, who died in 1642.
