Description

Church Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse that dates from the 17th century, with 18th century and later additions. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared. The main roof features scalloped clay tiles over stone slate base courses, with plain verges, while the subsidiary roofs are covered with Welsh slates and plain clay tiles, all having plain gables.

The building is two storeys high and has a four-bay main south elevation, with various additions to the west. It features small-pane casement windows, with three-light windows below and two-light windows above. There are French doors in the second bay on the lower level, all of which are set under voussoired flat arched heads. To the west, there is a single-storey extension with a slate roof, and south of this is a two-storey, single-bay wing that was formerly separate but is now linked to the main house. This wing has a 20th century lean-to porch set at an angle, which includes a simple window and a plain door. There are further extensions at the rear.

The interior has not been seen, but it is reported to contain a large fireplace with traces of a former bacon-curing chamber, as well as part fielded panelling in the parlour, which features an 18th century painted panel above the fireplace.
