Description
Landsdowne Cottage is a detached farmhouse dating from the 17th century and later. It is constructed of local lias stone that is cut and squared, with some dressings in Doulting stone. The roof is covered with single Roman pantiles, and some gables are coped with small scroll-carved kneeler stones. The building features brick chimney stacks and has an L-plan layout with two storeys. The east elevation has three bays, with the first bay set lower than the others and lacking an upper window. The second bay includes a raked dormer above, with casement windows in these bays. The third bay is a coped gable end that features a three-light ovolo-mould mullioned window with a label and a later sublight above. Below this bay is a 19th-century lean-to with a triple roll clay tile roof. On the north-facing roadside elevation, there are three casement windows below and another three-light ovolo-mould mullioned window above, which does not have a label. The interior has not been seen.
