Description

The Rectory, built around 1840, is a house constructed from local stone that is rendered and colourwashed on the south elevation. It features a hipped Welsh slate roof and brick chimney stacks, designed in a villa style. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with 12-pane sash windows set in plain surrounds. The lower windows are larger and have added margins. There is a central plain recessed doorway with a six-panel door and a margined fanlight above.

To the west, there is a late 19th-century extension that adds one bay, featuring French doors below and a composite sash window with sidelights above, all under an ornamental coping on a flat roof. The interior has not been seen.

The front boundary wall is made of cut and squared stone, standing about 1.75 metres high with plain coping, and is capped with simple wrought iron railings. It includes squared central gate piers made of ashlar with simple pyramidal caps, which are important to the setting of the house.
