Description

Limington House is a large house dating to the late 18th century, and apparently remodelled in the early 20th century. It is constructed of ham stone ashlar, which was formerly colourwashed, with a hipped Welsh slate roof featuring very wide eaves soffits. The chimney stacks are brick. The north entrance front has three bays. The central entrance has double panel doors with a rectangular fanlight, sheltered by a flat-roofed porch with square columns and matching pilasters topped with a balustrade, all in a non-classical style. There are 24-pane sash windows within architraves; the ground floor windows are almost full height, and the upper floor windows have matching balconies like the porch. A dentilled eaves course runs along the top of the building. The west elevation is four bays, matching the north front. A later extension is present on the south side.
