Description

The Old Rectory is an 18th-century rectory, now a private house. The main facade is constructed of Ham stone ashlar, with local stone used on the sides. It has a Welsh slate double roof concealed behind a parapet with high copings, and one stone and one brick chimney stack at each end. The building is two storeys high with three bays, plus a side entrance. It incorporates a high plinth and two cast-iron frame basement windows. Two angled bay windows with 12-pane sashes and lead hipped roofs are present on the ground floor; the centre bay is blank. The upper floor features three 9-pane sashes set within raised surrounds, with a string course marking the division between the floors. A heavy, ornate cornice tops the facade, followed by a parapet. A flat-roofed colonnade with square columns leads to a single-storey entrance lobby. A two-storey flat-roofed extension is located at the rear.
