Description
Orchard View is a centre-of-terrace cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring wood bracketed eaves and a rebuilt brick chimney stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. The entrance consists of a six-panel door, with two of the panels being glazed, positioned between the bays. There are 16-pane sash windows throughout, except for the right-hand ground floor, which features an early 19th-century shop window with 20 panes. This shop window projects slightly and has rounded corners, with a lead flat roof above a wooden cornice. Orchard View was formerly the village Post Office and is part of a group of three small cottages that form an interesting architectural ensemble.
