Description

Badgers is a detached cottage dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, and has been modified since its original construction. The facade is of cut and squared ham stone, while the sides and rear are of coursed rubble. The roof is of Welsh slate with stone slate base courses between stepped coped gables. A brick chimney stack is located on the north-west side. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. The ground floor of the first bay features a three-light mullioned window with slight chamfering. The first floor of the second bay has a three-light, beaded mullioned window within an architrave; all windows are fitted with louvred shutters. A pair of studded boarded garage doors are located in the lower part of the second bay. A loft door is set within the north-west gable, and a blocked doorway is present in the south-east gable (access to the property is now at the rear). The interior has not been inspected.
