Description
A range of three houses dating to the late 18th century, with extensions added in the 20th century. The houses are constructed from painted stone rubble, rendered at the front, and have a thatched roof with gabled and hipped ends, the roofline carried down to low eaves at the rear. Brick chimney stacks are located at the gable ends and along the central axis.
The houses are arranged with a range of three small dwellings. Each house has a direct entry into a heated principal room, with a smaller, unheated service room at the back, contained within an outshut that also houses the staircase. A further outshut was built at the northeast end in the 20th century.
The front of the houses has three windows, comprising 2 and 3-light casements, although the windows on the left-hand side of number 65 have been replaced in the 20th century. C20 porches have been added. The rear roofline extends down to low eaves over the integral outshut, with various 20th-century casements.
Internally, the front rooms have ceilings. Number 65 incorporates a late 19th-century fireplace, while number 68 has a late 20th-century fireplace. The rear staircases are 20th-century additions. The roof structure remains largely intact, featuring trusses with halved and lapped collars, staggered tenoned purlins, and straight wind braces.
