Description

No. 19 is a semi-detached house, likely dating from the early 19th century. The front facade is built of finely dressed ham stone, appearing almost like ashlar, while the sides and rear are of coursed rubble. It has a plain clay tiled roof with stepped coped gables, and a brick chimney stack to the east gable. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. It features plain mullioned windows of three lights, although one window has a 20th-century leaded casement. An angled two-storey bay, with a facade of one plus three plus one lights, is set into the second bay under a catslide roof. A 20th-century door is set within a voussoired flat-arched recess in the lower bay one, and a boarded door in a plain doorway with a flat stone hood supported on simple corbel brackets sits between bays two and three. A low extension extends to the rear. The interior has not been inspected.

Approximately 10 metres from the house stands a tall boundary wall constructed of cut and squared stone, set on a chamfered plinth and topped with thin stone coping. The wall has upsweeps at the corner and on the east return towards the house, and on the west end to a gateway defined by square piers with moulded bell-hip caps.
