Description

Moorlands Farm House is a detached farmhouse built in the late 18th century. It features a facade of ham stone ashlar, with coursed rubble on the sides and rear, and a Welsh slate roof over stone slate base courses between coped gables. The building has brick end chimney stacks and an 'L'-shaped plan, consisting of two storeys with attics and a four-bay south elevation, where the first bay is a single-bay projection.

The east return flank and the remaining bays of the facade have 16-pane sash windows set in architraves, along with French doors on the return flank of bay one. Bay three features a six-panel door with toplights, framed by a stone surround with Tuscan pilasters, a plain entablature, and a flat hood. The end gable of bay one includes a two-light hollow-chamfer mullioned window in a chamfered recess without a label, located in the attic. The north-east gable has 20th-century casement windows, and there is an extension at the rear. The south-west flank is rendered with ashlar lining and has another two-light mullioned attic window without a label, which shows signs of fire damage. The interior has not been seen.

Surrounding the property is a low ashlar wall topped with spearpoint railings, featuring arch-braced standards with urn finials. There are matching gates opposite the doorway, with two steps leading up to them.
