Description

Lindum House is a semi-detached house dating from the 17th century, with later modifications. It is constructed of ham stone coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a thatched roof behind coped gables, with brick and chimney stacks. The south-east elevation, facing the road, is two storeys high and comprises three bays set at right angles to the road. The ground floor features three-light windows with ovolo-mould mullions, set in chamfered recesses with labels. The first floor has semi-circular arched three-light casements set into the thatch. A lower bay to the right has an ashlar porch with a coped gabled Welsh slate roof, and a four-centre arched doorway with a 20th-century glazed door. A single-bay extension is located on the south-west side, also thatched. The north-east gable has latching ovolo-mould windows with hoodmoulds: a two-light window on the ground floor, and a single-light window on the first floor. A variety of simple casements are present in the north-west elevation. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
