Description

No 46 is a shop located on the south side of High Street in Wincanton, likely dating from the 19th century. The building is constructed of local stone rubble and is rendered on the west side. It features a plain clay tile roof with a simple gable and abutment, along with a brick chimney stack. The shop is two storeys high and consists of one bay. The ground floor has a shop front that spans the entire width, probably from the 19th century, with three-pane bow windows on either side of a matching glazed door. A simple wooden beam serves as a fascia above the shop front. On the upper floor, there is a plain sash window set centrally, and to the right, a hanging sign is mounted on a wrought iron bracket. The interior has not been seen. The building is included in the register primarily for its group value with other nearby structures.
