Description

The north boundary wall and gateway with piers, located 5 metres north of The Pinnacles, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed from Ham stone, featuring gate piers made of ashlar that are 600 mm square. The plinths of the piers are buried, and they are topped with cornice moulds and stepped bases leading to tall pyramidal pinnacles that have inset decoration, reaching a total height of about 2.75 metres. The piers are spaced 1.35 metres apart and support a 20th-century gate that is considered of no importance. The wall itself is made of cut and squared Ham stone, standing 1.3 metres high, with a thin shaped coping. It stretches approximately 21 metres in length and returns to the house. This wall and gateway significantly enhance the setting of the house.
