Description
The boundary wall and gate piers at Ashdell were built around 1850. They are made of coursed squared stone and ashlar, featuring ashlar dressings. The central section includes a pair of panelled square gate piers that have plinths and caps with segmental pediments. Flanking these are concave screen walls, which also have plinths and moulded coping, and they end in square piers topped with pyramidal caps. On either side of the structure, the boundary wall continues with similar coping and has coursed stone piers with square flat caps. The wall is approximately 60 meters long and is included for its group value.
