Description

The Sheffield Religious Education Centre is a house that has been converted into a religious education centre, dating from around 1850, with later alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a roof that is not visible. It has two large stone stacks on the side walls.

The exterior includes a plinth, panelled angle pilasters, a dentilled cornice, and a coped parapet with a pseudo balustrade and blocking course. The structure is two storeys high and has a four-window range. The central projecting section has a pediment and contains a single 12-pane sash window, flanked by single 12-pane sashes on either side.

A late 19th-century square stone porch with a cornice features a shouldered opening that leads to a 20th-century glazed door, accompanied by side and top lights. On each side of the porch, there are canted stone bay windows with three plain sashes each. To the right, there is a two-storey wing with a pierced balustrade, which includes a two-storey canted bay window with three plain sashes on each floor, separated by pilasters. Above the upper window, there is a segmental pediment.

Inside, the building has a dogleg stair with a barrel-vaulted landing and some wall panelling.
