Description
The Old School House is a former school and school house that has been converted into a private residence. It dates from the mid-19th century and features rough ashlar stone walls and a tiled roof with bargeboards. There are rough ashlar stacks with moulded caps, one located at the left end and another to the right of the center. The building is one storey with an attic.
At the right end, there is a projecting single storey flat-roofed extension with plastered walls and one sash window. The main range includes a slightly projecting gabled wing at the right end, which was originally the classroom. This wing has a three-light Gothic window with trefoiled lights and remnants of lead lights. To the left of this, there is a ledged door set in a shouldered arched opening. On the ground floor, to the right of the door, is a single light window with a plain casement, while to the left is a triple lancet window with trefoiled lights. The attic features two half dormers, each gabled, with a pair of trefoil-headed lancets.
