Description

Glebe Cottage is a detached cottage, likely originating in the 17th century, with 20th-century extensions. The walls are a mix of brick, plastered cob, and a rubble stone base. It has a hipped thatched roof. The cottage is one storey high with an attic. A panelled door is sheltered by a slightly projecting rustic porch. On the ground floor are three casement windows with leaded lights. The attic has two dormers with casement windows matching the ground floor. A later extension at the left end has roughcast walls, a thatched roof, and a single casement window under the eaves, also with leaded lights. A 20th-century rear extension mirrors the style of the earlier additions, with roughcast walls and a thatched roof. Inside, the main ground floor room features a large open fireplace with a timber lintel, which has been partially reconstructed.
