Description
Woodsford House, which includes an attached stable to the north, is a former vicarage now serving as a private residence. It was built in the mid-19th century and features rough ashlar stone walls with a tiled roof that is part hipped and part gabled, adorned with bargeboards. The house has an irregular plan and consists of two storeys and an attic.
The entrance front showcases a gabled porch that contains a partially glazed door and a fanlight set within a four-centred arched opening. To the right of the porch is a slightly projecting gabled wing. On the ground floor of this wing, there is a three-light mullioned and transomed timber window, with the lower lights featuring a horizontal bar at the center. This window has a stone lintel and a relieving arch above it. On the first floor, there is a similar two-light window without a transom, and a smaller similar window in the attic, which also lacks a relieving arch. To the left of the porch, on the first floor, there is a two-light casement window with a center horizontal bar, positioned beneath a gabled dormer. Adjacent to this is an externally projecting stack, which is rough ashlar up to the eaves level and ashlar above.
At the rear of the house, there is an attached former stable range constructed in matching materials, consisting of one storey and a loft. This stable features two pairs of garage doors and two pivoted windows with cast iron glazing on the ground floor, along with a loft door situated under the gable. The overall appearance of the property is picturesque.
