Description
Frome Bridge is a 19th-century road bridge that carries Watery Lane over the River Frome near Woodsford in West Dorset. The structure is made of red brick with stone coping and is supported by three arches, which feature cutwaters.
Both the upstream and downstream sides of the bridge are similar, each having cutwaters with hipped tops and three arches made of brick headers. A projecting brick band with a chamfered top separates the lower part of the bridge from the parapet, which is also constructed of brick and has large stone blocks for coping that are flush with the brick walls. The wing walls at either end of the bridge are angled.
