Description
Tincleton Farm House is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 16th century, with an extension added to the south in the 18th century. The walls are made of a mix of rubble stone and flint, with some brick patching on the left (south) end. It features a half hipped thatched roof and a stone stack with a moulded cap located just to the right of the door, along with brick end stacks. The building has one storey and an attic. The entrance includes a 6-panel part glazed door. On the ground floor, there are four casement windows with glazing bars and evidence of a blocked window. The attic contains four half dormers with similar casements and further evidence of a blocked window. There are two later brick rear wings with thatched roofs; one of these connects the house to a cottage at the back, which is not of special interest. The interior has not been inspected, but according to the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, it includes deep chamfered ceiling beams, a ground floor fireplace with a cambered and stop-chamfered lintel, and an upper floor fireplace with a 4-centred head supported by moulded corbels.
