Description

This structure consists of a wall and gate piers, located about 5 metres north-east of South Lodge, and dates from the mid-18th century. The wall is made of snecked stone and stands approximately 4 feet 6 inches high, resting on a stone plinth. It features a cambered ashlar coping. There are three slightly taller piers along the wall, with one located at the north end and one positioned at each curve of the wall. Between the southern pier and the gate-piers, there are pilaster strips. At the southern end, there is a pair of even taller gate-piers topped with bulbous corniced stone caps.
