Description
No. 78 High Street is a house with a shop, possibly dating from the 17th century or earlier, but featuring a late 18th century front. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a pantile roof. It is set slightly forward from the adjacent No. 80 and has a steep-pitched hipped roof behind a parapet.
The exterior has two storeys and three windows, which are 4-pane sashes located above a late 19th century shop front. The shop front includes thin mullions, rounded corners on the panes, a recessed doorway, and two wide piers, all topped with a deep fascia and moulded cornice that match the detailing of No. 80. The interior has not been inspected but may hold interest.
