Description
No. 10 West Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It features a late 18th century to early 19th century front that conceals a 17th century core, with some 20th century alterations. The building is made of painted brick and has a slate roof with a steeper pitch at the back. It stands three storeys high and has a three-window range, with 6/6 sash windows under gauged brick flat arches that have enriched keyblocks, and 3/3 sash windows under similar arches. There is a brick modillion eaves. The shop front, which is from the 20th century, includes a central glazed door and canted plate-glass windows beneath a moulded fascia-board. At the rear, there are twin gable-wings, with some damaged 17th century timber-framing visible on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
