Description
No. 6 West Street is a shop and dwelling, currently functioning as a cafe and bakery. The building features an earlier 18th century front that conceals a 17th century core, with some 20th century alterations. It is constructed of painted brick and topped with a Welsh slate roof. The structure stands three storeys high and has a three-window range, with 8/8 sash windows in moulded cases beneath gauged brick flat arches, and 4/8 sashes. The eaves are adorned with brick modillions. The mid-20th century shop front includes two pairs of glazed double doors with overlights, along with windows featuring clerestory lights, all set beneath a fascia board and hood. The left side of the building, visible in the passage, showcases 17th century timber-framing. At the rear, there is a timber-framed wing with a plain tile roof, along with an additional plain tiled wing. The interior also reveals some timber-framing.
