Description
The entrance gateway located about 50 meters east of Wheathill Farmhouse is likely from the 18th century. It features Doulting stone piers and wrought iron gates. The piers are square in shape with moulded plinths and rusticated ashlar surfaces topped with moulded bell-hip pyramidal caps. The gates, which may date from the 20th century, have square rod rails with collared arrow points and curved sweeps on the top rails. This gateway has group value with Wheathill Farmhouse and enhances the setting of the farmhouse.
