Description
The entrance gateway, located about 370 metres north-north-west of Rowland's Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It features ham stone piers and cast iron railings. The piers stand approximately 2.25 metres high and have a moulded plinth, rusticated pecked ashlar square sections, friezes adorned with draped swags, and moulded covings at the flat tops. Although there are no gates in the opening, there are short lengths of railings on a stone base with spearpoint tops on either side, along with a matching pedestrian gate on the east side.
