Description
The front gate and railings, located approximately 5 metres south of Homefield Farmhouse, date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. They consist of a wrought-iron gate and railings set on an ashlar-coped brick dwarf wall. The railings enclose a small front garden and feature plain standards topped with urn finials and scrolled bracket supports. The design includes alternating wavy and plain vertical bars, with the plain bars adorned with fleur-de-lys finials above a single top-rail. To the right, there is a hand-gate that mirrors the style of the railings, featuring similar plain and wavy bars, a mid-rail, and plain dog bars. This structure is included for its group value.
