Description
Cad Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse, likely originating from the 17th century, which has been modified over time. It is constructed of local stone rubble with some lias patching, and parts are rendered and colourwashed. The farmhouse features thatched roofs with plain gables and brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The basement has three-light horizontal-bar windows, with timber lintels below the first two bays. The third bay has a forward projection that is rendered and covered by a catslide roof, featuring two early-pattern three-light casements: a small one on the east side and a larger one on the north wall, which includes internal vertical iron bars. There is also an extension against the east gable that projects forward and has no windows on the north side. In the angle formed by this extension, there is a small timber-framed building with elm boarding, also covered by a thatched catslide roof. The interior has not been seen.
