Description

Court Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of local stone, squared and cut, with the west and east gables rendered. The roof is tiled with triple-roll clay tiles, bitumenised, and hidden behind high coped gables which suggest a former thatched roof. The farmhouse has rendered brick chimney stacks. The main block is two storeys high and three bays wide, with a lower, single-bay extension to the east. The windows are casement windows; those on the ground floor of the central bay have horizontal bars under keystoned lintels, while the first-floor windows are rectangular and leaded with iron-framed opening lights. A six-panel door is set in a heavy frame and protected by an open porch constructed of rustic timberwork. The east extension has a corrugated iron roof and horizontal-bar casement windows. Later casement windows are present on the south elevation. The interior was not inspected.
