Description

Winsham Bridge is a road bridge over the River Axe, built in 1824 for Sir Alexander Hood. It is constructed from local stone that is roughly cut and squared, featuring dressed and boasted stone dressings. The bridge has a single semi-circular arch with a triple keystone and a band course at road level. The parapet is slightly arched and has chamfered ashlar copings, with the ends curving out to square dressed stone piers.
