Description
Manor Cottage is an early 19th century cottage in a row, situated on Church Street, Wincham. The cottage is constructed of local stone, rendered and colourwashed, with a Welsh slate roof and brick end chimney stacks. It has two storeys and originally three bays, although bay 1 is set lower than the others. The ground floor features sash windows to bays 2 and 3, while the lower bay 1 has a segmental-arched opening with a keystone and impost blocks, containing a pair of boarded doors and a wicket gate. To the right (bay 3), there’s a six-fielded-panel door set in an architraved recess, with a Regency pattern fanlight and a moulded stone hood supported by shaped brackets. The interior has not been inspected. Bay 1 may have previously been part of the King's Arms Inn, which is now known as The Old King's Arms, and is attached to the south side of the cottage.
