Description
Home Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse that likely has origins from the 16th century, with the roof raised around 1700. The building is constructed from local stone that is cut and squared at the ground floor level, featuring Ham stone dressings. Above this, the walls are made of red brick in stretcher bond, which may be lining cob. The farmhouse has a thatched roof with plain gables and brick chimney stacks. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a two-bay south elevation.
The windows on the ground floor are hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in chamfered recesses, featuring unworked top mitres and labels. Above these, there are 2-light horizontal bar casements. Between the bays, there is a boarded door within a heavy frame, sheltered by a brick and tiled open porch. On the west gable, there is a further mullioned 3-light window. The rear of the building has an outshut with a brick wall, and there is a 20th-century single-storey extension against the east gable. The gable itself features a small 3-light timber casement window of early date, with diamond leaded panes. The interior has not been seen.
