Description
Ottersey is a detached house, mostly dating from the 19th century. It is built from local stone that is cut and squared, with rendered panels on the first floor, possibly over cob. The house features a thatched roof with a stepped, coped gable on the north side and a plain gable on the south side, along with stone slab chimney stacks. It has two storeys and a five-bay west elevation that is positioned at right angles to the street. The windows are early-pattern casements with rectangular leaded lights and iron-framed opening lights, mostly in three-light configurations, though there are two-light windows in the rendered panel. Between the second and third bays, there is a six-panel door in a heavy frame set in a recess, topped with a thin hood. The fourth and fifth bays appear to be later extensions, and from between them extends a two-storey high wing wall that sweeps to match the north boundary wall. The rear elevation has similar windows. The interior has not been seen.
