Description

ASHILL CP WOOD ST31NW 2/21 Caige Bush Farmhouse -

Detached farmhouse. C18, modified. Local lias stone rubble, rendered on front elevation; clay pantiled Mansard roof between stepped coped gables with ball finials, the lower slopes very steep; brick intermediate chimney stacks. Two storeys with attic, 4 bays. Later C19 4-pane sash windows in plain openings; projecting porches between bays 1/2 and 3/4, the former with pitched roof, the latter with lean-to roof, both tiled. Single-storey extension against north gable, ending with a north crosswing, in Flemish bond red brickwork with matching roof, and with single doorway; the crosswing 2 storeys, with roughly squared lias stone walls, doors at both levels in east gable. Interior not seen.
