Description
Ashton Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the 18th century, which has been modified over time. It features colourwashed brickwork above a random stone plinth and has a Welsh slate roof with plain gables and brick chimney stacks. The building stands two storeys tall with attics and consists of five bays. The windows are casement style with three lights and rectangular leaded panes, with the upper windows set in segmental-arched openings. The first bay on the lower level has a pair of French doors, while the third bay includes a projecting porch and stair wing, with a pitched roof that has its ridge at the general eaves level. On the north gable, there is a large semi-circular arched sash window with 15 panes and a radially-glazed top. The east return features a studded boarded door in a heavy frame. On the east gable, there is a slightly projecting chimney stack with small attic windows on either side, and an 'England' fire insurance plaque is also present. The interior has not been seen.
