Description

This is a road sign located at the old entry into Ashill, dating from the early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and was founded by W & F Wills of Bridgwater. The sign measures approximately 600mm by 300mm and is rectangular in shape, featuring a simple border and raised lettering that reads 'ASHILL/PLEASE DRIVE/SLOWLY'. It is mounted on a 'T' section post, although the top triangle of the post is missing. The road was diverted around the village in 1926-27.
