Description
Southtown North Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse located in Ashill, built in the late 18th century, likely as a remodelling of an earlier structure. It features red brick in Flemish bond, with the end bay constructed in stretcher bond. The roof is covered with double Roman clay tiles and has plain gables, along with brick chimney stacks.
The building is two storeys high with four bays and irregular window placement, with the fourth bay likely being an addition. There is a band course between the floors. The windows are mostly casements with three lights, primarily small-pane, and many have small pitched-roof gables above them. The first bay has leaded casements on both levels, while the lower level of the second bay has two windows. The lower level of the third bay features a studded boarded door in a heavy frame, set within an open timber porch, with a window to the right. The openings for the third and fourth bays have timber lintels, while the others are topped with flat brick soldier arches. The interior has not been seen.
