Description
This is a road sign located in Churchstanton, Churchingford, dating from the early 20th century. It is made of cast iron and steel and stands about 3 meters high. The sign features a T-section post topped by a triangle with light reflectors. Below this, there is a rectangular panel bolted on, inscribed in raised lettering with the words 'Churchingford Slow'. Another rectangular panel below it also has raised lettering that reads 'Cross Roads', with a symbol of crossroads above, set with light reflectors. This sign is a rare example of an undamaged early 20th-century road sign.
