Description

East Whatley Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble, with a colourwashed front, and has a thatched roof with a plain gable to the east and a half-hipped roof to the west. Brick chimney stacks, with an adjoining stone stack, are located at the ends and between the bays. The farmhouse is a single storey with an attic, and has four bays. The windows are horizontal-bar casements; two-light windows are found in bays one and two, a three-light window in bay three, and a single-light window in bay four. Matching three-light windows are set into the roof over each bay. A boarded door, set within a heavy frame and featuring a timber lattice porch, is positioned between the bays. A small-pane casement window is present in the north-east gable, while the south-west gable is plain. An outshut is attached to the rear. The interior was not inspected.
