WINSHAM CP BRIDGE WHATLEY LANE Leigh Road Railway Bridge

GV II Road bridge over railway. Circa 1860. Rusticated and squared local lias stone, some boasted, Ham stone copings: cast iron girders carrying brick vaults, themselves slightly arched. Bridge has square piers at ends and at bank seats; with a boasted band course at road level. The parapets flat with simple Ham stone copings; the four cast-iron beams have segmental bottom flanges, linked by three tie-rods additionally restraining the brick vaults carrying the road.

(According to Industrial Archaeological Society this is one of only two of this type remaining in the county).
