Description

Road sign at the junction with Ammerham Lane, dating from around 1900. It features a cast iron post and arms, with the circular post made by Denning and Co of Chard. The post has a collar that supports the sleeved signs, which drop onto the post, and it has a conoid top. The direction plates are lipped and rounded at all four corners. The eastern arm indicates 'Winsham 1/Crewkern 7 1/2', while the southern arm reads 'Forde Abbey 1/2/Chard Junction 2'. A later top arm pointing towards Chard has been snapped off. This sign is one of a few that appear to follow a pre-1907 pattern.
