Description
Pound Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse with origins dating back to the 17th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, topped with a thatched roof featuring stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of four bays, with the first bay projecting under a catslide roof. There is a chamfered string course between the floors, and the windows are two-light small-pane casements. The lower window in bay one is the only one present, while bay two has a lower window with a six-panel door and a glazed toplight. All openings have exposed timber lintels. A gable attic window is located on the west side, and there is a lean-to structure against the east gable. Inside, the farmhouse features deep chamfered cross-beams with curved step run-outs and a cambered arched timber beamed fireplace.
