Description
Paradise Mill is an 18th-century former watermill with a house, modified subsequently. It is constructed of local lias stone, cut and squared, with double Roman clay tile roofs, the higher roof featuring clay sawtooth ridge tiles. Gables are plain, and the building has brick chimney stacks. The mill comprises two units, each two storeys high with attics and two bays wide. The unit facing southwest, towards the waterside, is taller and includes a lean-to on the first bay and a later lean-to garage against the south gable. This unit has small horizontal bar casement windows and boarded doors to both levels, a stable door to the second bay, and dormer windows above. A small leaded window in an iron frame is set in the return. The lower unit has a 16-pane casement window to the lower bay and a stable-type door to the second bay, with an adapted casement window above. Timber lintols are present above all openings. Later extensions have been added to the rear. The interior was not inspected.
