Description

The Post Office and the adjoining cottage to the north are two separate houses built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed limestone and have a pantile roof. These are direct-entry cottages with an outshut on the right side. The buildings are single storey with attics.

On the left side, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door flanked by two-light Yorkshire sash windows, all set under keyed channelled lintels. On the right side, there is a boarded door with a straight joint to the left and a two-light Yorkshire sash window to the right. The attics feature gabled dormers, with casement windows on the left cottage and a two-light Yorkshire sash on the right cottage. The left gable has coping and a shaped kneeler. There are end stacks, with the one on the right having been rebuilt, as well as ridge stacks. This building is included for its group value.
